Snapshot No. 815-819

819. AC Milan Academy

AC Milan school AC Milan school 2

At a nearby soccer school.

Twilight soon.

818.@A pyron with a peculiar appearance

275 kV line 2-4 branch 275 kV line 2-4 branch

A 275-kV transmission tower about 3 km away from my place.

Felt something weird.
Turned out two-conductor line branches off to that of four.

The photos remain 4000 x 3000 pixels for clear view of the lines, and may go over the frame on some screen.
Appreciating your understanding.

817.@A favorite design

Musasi no mori coffee A coffee shop I occasionally drop by.

Though anywhere is fine, this exterior makes me stop by the shop.

816.@Picture map of the gunnery practice ground / Sakura Domain

It is said that something called "Army Field Gunnery School" had existed near my place.

Shown below are the pictures and images related to that Gunnery School.

Left: The school's monument saying "Japan's artillery land of origin".

Right: A monument by the local people when the lands were requisitioned by the army. Released area sizes, compensation amounts, etc. are inscribed.

The back side of the artillery monument says that the school originated from the Sakura Domain's gunnery range.

In fact, the old Sakura map shows "gun making works", "gunpowder works", "cannon brigade row house" in three different locations.

Checking ken's digital archives showed "Picture map of the gunnery practice ground of Sakura Domain". So I show it below.

This is a part of the 14-page drawing in the "Nanohana Library" of ken's central library
"Picture map of the gunnery practice ground of Sakura Domain"  .

Sakura-han houjyutu shjayou Sakura-han houjyutu shjayou 2 The left is the map of the artillery firing range.

The right is the close-up of the southern edge. It reads forty-chou from the northern end. Thus the range length is 4.4km.

Namely, it exteded to the area up to the present Yotukaidou city office.

Sakura Domain's gunnery had been the traditional one called "Buei style". In the long lasted peace period, its technical levels had been the same as those at the time of Hideyosi's Korean Campaigns. Thus, at the end of Shogunate era, it was clear for everyone that the coastal defenses were totally inadequate to counter the foreign warships that started appearing frequently.

As the Sakura Domain was responsible for the defense of the Edo's eastern area, it changed its gunnery to the western style, "Takasima school gunnery".

Since the Sakura Domain had kept the important positions in Shognate for generations, and also through its specialty, the "Dutch Learning", it had good understanding on the movements in the Shogunate's direct jurisdiction, Nagasaki. So it was natural that it adopted the Nagasaki's Takasima Shuhan's style under the then turblent period.

Tokyo's Takasima-daira district has a preservation society for the "Takasima school gunnery". For instance a footage by Itabasi-ward local histroy museum
this   recreates the firing style, not for cannons, but for rifles. The commands are all in Dutch. This is based on the promises exchanged between the Dutch and Takasima Shuuhan. The same must be true to he way of procession, drum, whistle, etc.

815. Kasamori Kan-non Temple

Shots at the ken's museum.

Kasamori Kan-non diorama Kasamori Kan-non diorama 2

A diorama of Kasamori temple located at Chounan town. Laborious works!

Making this type of stuff requires both time and money. Thanks to the museum's curators in charge for the works.

This temple is purposely built on the place where a big boulder sits on top of a high cliff.

Girder 6-ken (11 m), beam 8-ken (15 m), through-tenon 4-stage, vertical column 61, height 34m
(Upper main-hall: girder 5-ken, beam 4-ken)

Even those who are not in architecture industry must wonder how this was built.

This appearance has been sufficient to attract people's attention.

In fact, Basho's haiku-inscribed stone exhists there. An ukiyo-e as well.

A piece by the Andou Hirosige II is abundant on internet.
As it is old enough and there is no copyright issue, I put it below.

Kasamori Kan-non ukiyo-e Hmm..

In oredr to attract people's attention, it is OK to exagerate to such an extreme.

"Various areas' 100 famous places / Kazusa province Kasamori temple / Kan-non on the rock"

Further the present temple homepage shows "power spots along the 35-dgree latitude", saying;

"2" itself, "4" Mt. Fuji, "8" Mt. Ibuki, "12" Daisen, "13" Izumo great shrine !?

Kasamori Kan-non rayline The head-priest looks to intentionally talk big no less than the "Hirosige II".

I like very much this type of bragging in today's society where people pretend to be overly humble.
